This free 65-page report from the Employee Ownership Association, Ownership at Work, and DJS Research focuses on the quality of employee ownership, not only the fact of ownership. It draws on qualitative interviews with 67 senior decision-makers and 27 employee owners conducted in 2023, covering communication, culture, voice, reward, leadership, governance, wellbeing, and people practices.
Use it as a source of practice questions rather than a universal benchmark or causal study. The sample is UK-centered and largely drawn through the project partners' networks, so its findings should not be treated as U.S. ESOP or EOT legal guidance or assumed to transfer unchanged across sectors and ownership models.
