Heirloom Content Policy

1. Introduction

Heirloom is designed to help teams, co-ops, collectives, founder-support programs, and human-centered organizations coordinate work, preserve shared context, make decisions, and follow through together. This Content Policy explains what content and conduct are not allowed on Heirloom so the service can remain useful, safe, and trustworthy.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all content and activity on Heirloom, including Looms, profiles, posts, comments, tasks, proposals, votes, decisions, documents, files, messages, integrations, links, invitations, and any other use of the service.

Users are responsible for the content they create, upload, import, share, or make available through Heirloom, including content brought into Heirloom from third-party services.

3. Prohibited Content and Conduct

You may not use Heirloom to create, upload, share, coordinate, promote, or facilitate content or activity that is unlawful, abusive, deceptive, exploitative, invasive, or harmful to other users, organizations, or the public.

We may remove content, restrict access, suspend accounts, or take other action when we believe content or conduct violates this policy, our Terms of Service, applicable law, or the safety and integrity of Heirloom.

4. Illegal, Harmful, or Regulated Activity

Heirloom may not be used to promote, facilitate, organize, or conceal illegal activity or activity that creates serious risk of harm.

• Content that promotes or facilitates fraud, scams, theft, money laundering, tax evasion, or other unlawful activity.
• Content that instructs users how to commit crimes, evade law enforcement, bypass safety systems, or conceal illegal conduct.
• Content that promotes, coordinates, or glorifies violence, credible threats, terrorism, violent extremism, or physical harm.
• Content that sells, facilitates, or coordinates regulated goods or services where prohibited, including illegal drugs, weapons, stolen goods, counterfeit goods, or other restricted items.
• Content that encourages self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, or serious physical harm.
• Content that exploits, abuses, or endangers children.

5. Harassment, Hate, and Abuse

Heirloom should not be used to target, intimidate, degrade, or abuse others.

• Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, intimidation, or repeated unwanted contact.
• Content that attacks or dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, veteran status, or other protected or vulnerable status.
• Content that encourages others to harass, threaten, shame, or target a person or group.
• Graphic, violent, or degrading content used to shock, harass, or intimidate others.
• Sexual harassment, non-consensual sexual content, or content that exploits or sexualizes others without consent.

6. Privacy and Personal Information

Users must respect the privacy, confidentiality, and safety of others. You may not share personal, private, sensitive, or confidential information without appropriate permission.

• Do not post private contact information, addresses, financial information, identification numbers, credentials, access tokens, passwords, or private communications without consent.
• Do not upload or share confidential organizational information unless you have the right to do so.
• Do not use Heirloom to dox, expose, threaten, or pressure another person.
• Do not misuse information from Looms, integrations, files, messages, or other workspace activity.

7. Intellectual Property

Users must respect the intellectual property rights of others. You may not upload, import, post, or share content that you do not have the right to use.

• Do not share copyrighted content without permission or a valid legal basis.
• Do not use another person's trademarks, logos, branding, or creative work in a misleading or infringing way.
• Do not remove ownership notices, attribution, or licensing information from content you share.

8. Spam, Deception, and Platform Abuse

Users may not interfere with Heirloom's integrity, security, or intended use.

• Spam, mass unsolicited messages, misleading invitations, or manipulative engagement tactics.
• Impersonation of another person, organization, team, or representative.
• Misrepresenting your identity, authority, affiliation, credentials, ownership, or purpose.
• Phishing, credential theft, malicious links, malware, spyware, or attempts to compromise accounts or systems.
• Attempts to bypass access controls, scrape private content, overload the service, probe security systems, or interfere with other users' access to Heirloom.
• Using Heirloom to coordinate activity that violates another platform's rules or security.

9. Loom-Specific Responsibilities

Looms are collaborative spaces. Loom creators, admins, and members are responsible for using them honestly and appropriately.

• Loom names, descriptions, documents, proposals, and invitations must not mislead users about the Loom's purpose, ownership, authority, or affiliation.
• Looms may not be used to coordinate fraud, abuse, harassment, illegal activity, or deceptive fundraising.
• Users should not represent that a Loom has legal, employment, financial, investment, cooperative, nonprofit, or governance status unless that representation is accurate.
• Users should only invite people, assign work, share files, or import third-party data when they have appropriate permission to do so.

10. Enforcement

We may review reported content, automated signals, account activity, or other information available to us when evaluating possible violations.

Depending on the situation, we may take one or more of the following actions:

• Remove or restrict access to content.
• Limit, suspend, or terminate accounts.
• Restrict or disable Looms, features, or integrations.
• Require edits to content before it can remain visible.
• Notify Loom admins or affected users where appropriate.
• Preserve or disclose information when required by law or necessary to protect safety, rights, or security.

We may consider context, severity, intent, user history, risk of harm, and legal obligations when making enforcement decisions.

11. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or conduct that may violate this policy, report it through the platform where available or email us at heirloom.connect@gmail.com. Please include relevant context, links, screenshots, names of affected Looms or users, and any other information that may help us review the issue.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Content Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and may provide additional notice through Heirloom or by email. Continued use of Heirloom after an updated policy becomes effective means you accept the updated policy.
